This year, our agency has decided to do a monthly "spotlight" for some of our local non-profits. We believe it is important to support and become more engaged in local organizations in hopes to really help our community grow and prosper.

Our first non-profit spotlight is Athens Food Rescue. This great organization participated in our December 2015 donation opportunity community poll and had a very strong following. There is no shortage of distractions in the modern world. Distracted driving has become a national issue, and many schools and public agencies are scrambling to raise awareness of the problem. The National Safety Council estimates that one in four car accidents involve cell phone use, but many people still believe that talking or texting while driving is harmless. Artisan contractors like carpenters, roofers, electricians and plumbers often have basic insurance needs taken care of through a Business Owners Insurance Policy (BOP), but a BOP isn't designed to provide coverage for all business risks, especially those faced by contractors.  Floaters may be necessary to cover equipment; business auto insurance may be needed to cover trucks used primarily in business, and many states require contractor employers to provide workers compensation insurance.
